The Postal Regulatory Commission approved the U.S. Postal Service’s Rate Increase and Classification Proposals

Fri, May 29, 2015

Effective May 31, 2015, the average overall postage increase will increase 1.966%, which aligns with the CPI cap. The increase for Standard Mail letters is approximately 1.8% for automation mail and 1.2% for walk-sequence carrier route. First-Class Mail Automation Letters and Cards increase about 2.4%. (Commercial First-Class increased at a higher rate because most single-piece rates didn’t change.) Business mailers may see postage bills that vary significantly from the class average based on the specific rate categories they use.
